The Centre for EU Studies was founded in 2005 as the political science pillar of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at Ghent University (Belgium). We offer a Master programme on European Union studies (mainly in Dutch).
Our research focuses on the EU’s decision-making process and on Europe’s external policies. The expertise of several members was recently bundled in a book on ‘Europe’s Global Role’ (Ashgate, 2009). The Centre has also been active in the public debate on EU politics.
