CIDIN is an interdisciplinary academic institute addressing issues of inequality, poverty, development and empowerment. While valuing strong ties with academic institutes worldwide, Northern and Southern civil society organizations and bi- and multilateral donor agencies, CIDIN maintains its academic and institutional independence. We build on a history of critical research and education, as well as active public engagement. We aim for a high quality scientific contribution to both academic and policy debates by combining critical theory, empirical studies and policy oriented research. CIDIN offers a stimulating educational environment for graduates, post graduates and PhD candidates. It promotes and participates in public debates in order to raise awareness and understanding of injustice in a globalizing world.
