Centre for European programmes (CEP) has been established in 2001 as a major department of the American University in Bulgaria in the field of European integration, European project management, European utilities management etc.

CEP provides an interdisciplinary focus on the prospects, progress, and problems of the European integration process by organizing different kinds of trainings, information activities and consulting in EU affairs for the central and regional administrations, local authorities and NGOs, business community as well as participating in different European programmes for higher education and vocational training such as PHARE, Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Jean Monnet, Framework Programmes for Research and Development.

The expertise of the Centre for European Programmes covers the areas of EU institutions and decision-making process; Lobbying in the EU; EU policies; Internal market; Public administration reform; Project identification and formulation; Project implementation; Regulatory Impact Assessment EU Procurement; Networking.

CEP has a track record of more than 80 projects and initiatives funded by programmes of the European Union and other donors for academic and professional education, implemented through academic exchange, professional training programmes, research and consultancy work, study visits, seminars and conferences, among which:
