The IEP-Strasbourg is part of the Université Robert Schuman and maintains close ties with the other departments of the University. It is located just off Place Arnold, a 5-minute walk from the Esplanade campus (which houses departments from all three of Strasbourg's universities), a 10-minute walk from the Old University and the European complex, and a 15/20-minute walk from the cathedral in the heart of the city.
Strasbourg's IEP hosts approximately 750 students, more than 10% of which are foreign. Its faculty includes 90 professors and instructors. Of these, 30 are IEP permanent faculty, 42 are connected to other departments of the University or the National Education System, and 18 come from professional backgrounds (firms, banks, etc.), enriching their courses with their experience.
Diversity is one of the dynamics which makes Sciences-Po unique. French students also come from diverse geographical, intellectual and social backgrounds. One common trait is shared by all: a high level of scholastic ability, confirmed by the tough entrance requirements (with yearly acceptance rates around 10 to 15%).
