The ongoing integration of Europe is creating an array of new career opportunities. These increasingly require specialised knowledge of the historical, economic, political and especially the legal aspects of the European Union. Our international LL.M. program „European Integration“ – the second oldest program of its kind in Europe – is the key to a European career for law, economic and humanity students with a university degree. The Europa-Institut is a part of the law faculty of the Saarland University. This brings many advantages for the students, as they have e.g. access to all juridical equipment of the law faculty. Nevertheless, we offer an independent curriculum with our own lecturers and our own courses.
More than 3.000 students from all over the world have graduated from this program over the past 60 years. The education concentrates on institutional and substantial European law with five different units of specialization (European Economic Law, Foreign Trade, European Management, European Media Law, and European Protection of Human Rights). Today, numerous graduates are employed in top positions in European and international institutions, law firms, national governments and enterprises.
The quality of the Europa-Institut’s master program was confirmed by the recent law school ranking published in the leading German newsmagazine DER SPIEGEL, where Saarland University law school ranked 7th of 41 schools, thus belonging to the „top group of law schools“. The Europa-Institut also qualifies as a model program for European studies and is actively supported by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology, the European Commission and the „Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft“.Europa-Institut.
