The department was created over twenty years ago with the aim of studying and analysing the dynamics of the international system from a multidisciplinary point of view. Since then, its members have led a strong research activity, organised national and international conferences and published works on some of the main issues of international history, politics, law and economics. Thanks to this scientific experience, the department is now able to contribute, with a highly qualified teaching staff, to the general didactic offer of the faculty of Political Sciences of our university, and especially to the undergraduate courses in “Political Sciences, International and European Studies” and “Political Science, International Studies, Human Rights”, and to the Master’s courses in “International Politics and Diplomacy” and “Human Rights and Peace Institutions and Policies”.

On a further level of education, the department also offers the following courses:
