The model Mr Lundgren oversaw – of issuing blanket guarantees, creating 'bad banks' to ring fence toxic assets and nationalising banks where necessary – has been widely praised for its effectiveness in resolving Sweden's financial crisis. Mr Lundgren will address members on the lessons of his country's experience for Ireland and for Europe.
