By the time Turkey might join the EU its runaway birth rates could push its population from 70m today to overtake Germany. But its youthful and increasingly well-educated workers could be what aging Europe needs to overcome existing labour shortages that are set to stifle future economic growth.

Re:CAN TURKEY REVIVE AGING EUROPE? Frankly, it all depends on Turkey's reform progress. The EU that would at one point welcome Turkey, will not be the same at the EU that we know today, and that also goes for Turkey. So let's continue talks, and we'll see where it all ends in a decade or two. (Perhaps Turkey even no longer wants to become a member by that time...)
