Recent events and crises (energy, environmental, economic and financial, etc.) have jolted the European Union (EU) into debating the development of a comprehensive European Energy Security Policy. In terms of this, EGMONT - Royal Institute for Internal Relations, and the D Group Germany are organising one of the most important conferences this year: “Challenges for a comprehensive European Energy Security Policy for Gas”
On the 3rd of March 2010 At the Residence Palace, 155 rue de la Loi, 1040 Brussels The aim of the conference is to gather selected stakeholders such as international gas suppliers, gas buyers and high-ranking representatives from the European Institutions, in order to discuss current energy issues mainly linked to gas markets. The conference intends also to identify possible approaches regarding energy security for gas with focus on infrastructures, investments and diversification based on the European Economic Recovery Plan, as well as to define new paths and new business opportunities in that sector. Furthermore the conference offers the possibility for exclusive networking with high-ranking representatives and decision makers from politics, industry and international institutions. Several companies like BASF Wintershall, Nord Stream and VNG, as well as high level officials from EU institutions and other international organisations already confirmed as speakers.
