Most international bodies dedicated to development and cooperation have established as a priority substantial improvement in education in the Arab world, in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals established by the United Nations. Moreover, they stress the need to further expand the reforms carried out. Education is the best instrument to bring about the necessary social changes, to enable effective development of good governance and to aid the resolution of conflicts. Developing policies that enhance women’s education enables us to consolidate democratic values as a tool of social transformation and of the fight against inequality and discrimination. This seminar seeks to empower diverse actors in these areas, in order to understand their legal status and the instruments available to them.

The seminar also proposes an analysis of the resulting policies created and thus facilitate the detection of gaps to be covered, the assessment of good practices and the generation of new ideas.
