About the event:

Michael Semple will give a keynote address at the IIEA on the U.S. administration’s strategy in Afghanistan.
Following his recent article in Foreign Affairs “Flipping the Taliban: How to Win in Afghanistan” (July/August 2009), he will discuss the role of the U.S. and other actors, such as the European Union, in tackling the issue of Afghanistan.

About the speaker:

Michael Semple is a regional specialist focusing on Afghanistan and
Pakistan, with extensive experience of dialogue with the Taliban.
