On 12th March 2010 Polish proposal for a New Strategic Concept for the North Atlantic Alliance was given to Anders Fogh Rasmussen, NATO Secretary General. The document was prepared by a task force of analysts from Warsaw University’s Institute of International Relations and the Kraków-based Institute for Strategic Studies, working under Professor Roman Kuźniar. The work on this document took off in the summer of 2009. Five open seminars were held in Warsaw and Kraków, with broad and active participation of many experts and students. Two seminars were attended by Professor Adam D. Rotfeld, a member of the group of Wise Men appointed by NATO Secretary General to develop the assumptions of a future strategy for the Alliance. We do hope that this product of our effort will be a useful contribution to these preparations.
