This report aims to analyze the attitude of the governments in the countries the former Soviet Union (FSU) towards financing key public services in education and health under the conditions of the global economic crisis.
This paper provides a regional overview of common trends and country-specific factors influencing the general economic and fiscal situation and the performance of the education and health sectors in these countries. Where relevant and possible (from the point of view of data availability), this overview also covers some other FSU countries.
