FACES OF TUBERCULOSIS - INDIA

Mumbai-based Indian photojournalist Subhash Sharma travelled through India to capture photos of people with MDR-TB, their communities, and the outreach workers and health professionals striving to make a difference in the fight against TB/MDR-TB.

India has the highest number of people affected by TB in the world. There are 1.9 million new cases every year and 450,000 deaths annually. An estimated 2.8% (54,000) of all new TB cases are MDR-TB.
